This allows us to cultivate an enhanced workplace experience for their teams whilst optimising efficiency, meticulously managing every asset, and minimising their impact on the planet. Whether guiding their path to net zero or redeveloping their facilities for enhanced efficiency, we create better places for work whilst taking away the burden of facility operations, freeing up our customers to concentrate on their business.

Role Overview:

As an electrical technician on GSK sites, you will be a self-starter, able to initiate, control, and complete routine and reactive maintenance to an exceptional standard. You will demonstrate true ownership and stewardship of your working areas, ensuring all works are conducted safely and facilities are kept to a very high standard. You will be required to coordinate with contractors and ensure they comply with EMCOR UK’s safety and quality standards.

What you'll do:

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring maximum efficiency, availability, and reliability of services and facilities.
  • Maintain a safety-focused, professional attitude, work independently, and apply technical skills to meet contract requirements.
  • Follow defined safe systems of work, policies, and procedures; stop work if safety concerns arise and escalate appropriately.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical regulations and safety standards in all activities.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other maintenance staff or apprentices.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members to ensure safe and timely workload completion.
  • Implement 'make safe' isolation procedures and gather initial evidence in electrical safety incidents.
  • Own electrical areas such as HV/LV substations, switch-rooms, and equipment.
  • Perform duties as LV and HV Authorized Person when appointed.
  • Liaise with the Helpdesk to respond to urgent maintenance tasks within contracted timescales.
  • Work overtime as required to support business continuity.

Resource responsibilities:

  • Manage subcontractors to ensure high safety and quality compliance, issue safety documents, and enforce safe systems of work.
Person Specification

Who you'll be:

  • BS7671 - 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Experience in electrical maintenance within building service or industrial environments
  • Experience in customer service within a service provider contract
  • Strong communication, IT, and literacy skills
  • Adherence to quality standards and compliance, ideally in a regulated environment like Pharma
  • Willing to attain and hold Authorized Person LV status (additional payment applies)
  • C&G 2391-52 Inspection & Testing qualification
  • HV AP qualification or progression towards it, with a desire to advance further
  • Involvement or leadership in continuous improvement initiatives
