Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Technician to support reactive and planned maintenance of building electrical systems across sites in Newport.

You will perform fault finding, PPM routines and ensure compliance with BS7671 standards. Under the guidance of the Technical Supervisor and Area Operations Manager, you will deliver small works projects with the Projects and Construction team, maintain test equipment, and assist with handovers and snagging of new installations to ensure

Qualifications

• Must have completed an apprenticeship or equivalent formal training in electrical installation and maintenance with practical experience.
• Must hold a City and Guilds Level 3 in electrical discipline.
• Must hold City and Guilds 2382 Level 3 BS 7671 (18th Edition) or equivalent; if not, qualification to be obtained within 3 months.
• Hold a Level 3 NVQ diploma in Electrical Installation or Maintenance.
• AM2 or equivalent qualification is desirable.
• JIB skills card is preferred.
• Formal training in UPS/generators and electrical installations inspection/testing is required.
• PASMA / IPAF and confined space/roof working training is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain low voltage electrical distribution, power/lighting systems, and perform PPM routines.
• Keep equipment and fixtures maintained and support delivery of small works projects with Projects and Construction teams.
• Ensure repairs and installations comply with BS7671 regulations.
• Assist in handover and snagging of new installations for maintainability.
• Undertake fault finding on LV AC/DC control systems and keep test equipment calibrated.
• Complete risk assessments for reactive and planned maintenance tasks.
• Liaise with CSC and AFM for planned and reactive task responses.
• Produce site reports and manage stock of spare parts.
• Oversee Control of Works APs and coordinate CPs within the cluster.
• Participate in Emergency Call Out service as required.
