Job summary

Randstad Construction & Property in Peterborough is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer for a 12-month contract to develop electrified machine demonstrators and prototypes. You will define requirements, lead architecture, and validate HV/LV systems on real hardware.

The role involves hands-on hardware work, collaboration with controls, software, and mechanical teams, and the opportunity to work with advanced battery and power electronics technologies on site in Peterborough.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing and integrating electrical systems in automotive/industrial sectors.
• Hands-on HV/LV electrical systems knowledge (60V to 1500V+).
• Experience with CAN-based diagnostics and fault finding.
• Familiarity with standards, compliance and validation for electrified systems.

Responsibilities

• Define electrical system requirements and specifications.
• Lead electrical architecture development and system integration.
• Select electrical components and evaluate subsystems.
• Create validation plans, test procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct hands-on validation for HV and LV architectures.
• Troubleshoot, commission and debug electrical systems.
• Resolve integration issues during machine build.
• Document decisions, test outcomes and recommendations.
