Forth Ports seeks Electrical Shift Technicians to join the LCTE Engineering team at the Port of Tilbury. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance on terminal equipment, diagnose faults, and carry out electrical and mechanical repairs to maximise plant reliability and safety.

You'll work across familiar systems, including cranes, conveyors, and HV equipment, following permit-to-work and safety procedures, with overtime as required to meet operational demands.

Qualifications

• ONC or HNC in an engineering discipline (Mechanical or related)
• Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills across industrial and mobile plant
• Strong understanding of electrical safety requirements and safe working practices
• Experience with AC drive systems, electric motors and inverter drives
• Experience of PLC systems and fault diagnostic

Responsabilités

• Maintain and repair terminal equipment, working across electrical and mechanical disciplines
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Record maintenance activities, inspections, fault findings, and repairs
• Communicate updates on equipment condition and work progress
• Support equipment reliability through fault investigation and safety checks
• Operate and inspect engineering plant and equipment safely
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to support safe operations
• Demonstrate flexibility to work shift patterns and overtime
• Carry out duties assigned by the Line Manager
