Job summary

Peel Ports Group in Liverpool is seeking a qualified Mechanical Shift Technician to maintain heavy plant and equipment across Bulk and Break terminals. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, carry out modifications, and work with operations to prioritise repairs on a 3 on, 3 off shift pattern.

The role requires ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, experience with conveyors, hydraulics and pneumatics, and fault finding using diagnostic equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy plant and equipment in an industrial setting such as quarrying or bulk handling.
• Practical knowledge of conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating equipment.
• Ability to fault find and diagnose using diagnostic equipment.
• Familiarity with Permit to Work systems and incident reporting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on heavy plant and equipment.
• Complete modifications and liaise with operations to prioritise breakdown repairs.
• Utilise fault finding techniques to minimize downtime and support QA and Health & Safety policies.
• Document activities in line with HSE regulations and company procedures.
