Job summary

Port of Tilbury London Ltd is seeking an Electrical Shift Technician to join the LCTE Engineering team. The role focuses on planned and reactive maintenance of terminal equipment, including cranes and vehicle fleets, with emphasis on safety, reliability and compliant operation.

You will diagnose electrical faults, perform repairs and support downtime minimisation while working with the team across shifts. A strong background in electrical engineering and PLC systems is essential for this

Qualifications

• ONC or HNC in engineering discipline and completed an engineering apprenticeship.
• Strong electrical fault-finding across industrial equipment.
• Experience with AC drives, motors and inverter drives.
• Experience with PLC systems and fault diagnostic.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair container cranes, straddle carriers and terminal equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Work under pressure and prioritise faults in a fast-paced environment.
• Ensure maintenance is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Record all maintenance activities and faults using maintenance software.
• Communicate updates with Shift Supervisors and Engineering Management.
• Support equipment reliability through inspections and safety checks.
