Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions Ltd has a Day Shift Engineer role based near Southampton within a healthcare environment. The engineer will perform planned and reactive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and building systems, working with the on-site team and reporting to senior staff.

The successful candidate will have an electrical qualification (18th Edition) and a proven track record in commercial building maintenance; salary up to £43,000 with overtime and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Electrically qualified to a recognised standard (C&G/NVQ Level 3).
• Experience in building services maintenance and M&E.
• Good communication and fault-finding abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical, mechanical and general building maintenance.
• Lighting: fault finding, lamping, ballast replacement, power distribution.
• Emergency lighting testing.
• Maintain AHUs and FCUs (filters and cleaning).
• Water temperature checks (no chemicals).
• Monitor BMS systems and report irregularities.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors.
• Keep logbooks updated and attend client meetings when required.

Day Shift Engineer – FM Service Provider - Healthcare Environment – Southampton - £43k

An exciting opportunity to join an established building services company based near Southampton has arisen! CBW Staffing Solutions are currently recruiting an Electrical Day Shift Engineer to be based in a small hospital site.

You will be required to carry out planned and reactive building maintenance alongside the maintenance team on site, working closely with a senior member of the team and the team on site.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of Facilities Maintenance and have experience in building maintenance mainly including M&E. In return, the company is offering a salary of up to £43,000, overtime, plenty of further training and a potential route into further career progression.

This is a shift role working a 2 week rolling pattern covering 06:00 - 20:00 4 days on / 3 days off / 3 days on / 4 days off.

Key duties & Responsibilities

• Perform electrical, mechanical, and general building maintenance
• Lighting: small installs, fault finding, lamping, ballast replacement, power distribution
• Emergency lighting testing
• Maintain AHUs and FCUs (filter changes, cleaning)
• Water temp checks (no chemical dosing)
• Monitor BMS systems and report irregularities
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors
• Keep logbooks updated and attend client meetings when require

The ideal candidate will have :

• Electrically qualified to C&G / NVQ Level 3
• Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent
• 18th Edition
• A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
• Good communication skills
