Job summary

Cranage EMC Testing Ltd in Market Drayton is seeking a Product Safety Test Engineer to verify electrical/electronic products meet safety standards. You will work in a clean lab with high-spec equipment and contribute to product compliance.

You'll test against standards like BS/EN IEC 61010, 60335, 62368, 60598; ensure correct labelling and manuals; collaborate with manufacturers and designers; and pursue a lab management pathway.

Qualifications

• BTEC or degree in electrical/electronics engineering.
• Experience testing electrical/electronic equipment to safety standards.
• Customer-focused with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Eager to expand knowledge and progress your career.
• Experience in a UKAS-accredited organisation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Test electrical/electronic products against safety standards (e.g. BS/EN IEC 61010, 60335, 62368, 60598).
• Evaluate product design for electrical, mechanical and thermal safety; endurance testing of components.
• Assess hazards, fire risks, and environmental performance at temperature/humidity.
• Verify user manuals and labelling for compliance.
• Write clear test reports and use calibrated lab equipment.
• Collaborate with manufacturers/designers to support certification.
