Job summary

Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick (BBK) is seeking an Electrical QC Inspector to monitor and report on quality compliance during the Hinkley Point C MEH Alliance works. You will support construction teams to meet project quality objectives, inspecting installations, recording LTQRs and coordinating with client representatives.

The role requires NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation and a Gold JIB Electrical Grade Card, with experience in major infrastructure projects and a focus on safety,

Qualifications

• NVQ or SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
• Gold JIB Electrical Grade Card.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections in accordance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Monitor compliance with project quality standards, procedures and specifications.
• Raise non-conformance reports and quality observations as required.
• Liaise with client representatives during construction inspection activities.
• Review drawings, specifications and code requirements to ensure compliance.
• Maintain LTQRs and ensure inspection documentation is accurate and complete.

About The Role

Join the MEH Alliance at Hinkley Point C and play a vital role in delivering one of the UK's largest and most complex infrastructure projects.

We are seeking experienced Electrical QC Inspectors to support the successful delivery of Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC installation works across the Hinkley Point C project. This role offers the opportunity to work within a high-performing quality team, ensuring installation activities meet the highest standards of safety, compliance and workmanship.

What you'll be doing

Responsibilities

As an Electrical QC Inspector, you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting compliance with quality requirements and supporting construction teams to achieve project quality objectives. Key responsibilities include:

• Performing inspections in accordance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Monitoring compliance with project quality standards, procedures and specifications.
• Raising non-conformance reports and quality observations where required.
• Liaising with client representatives during construction inspection activities.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and code requirements to ensure compliance.
• Maintaining Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) and ensuring inspection documentation is accurate and complete.
• Updating SONIM registers and quality records as required.
• Championing Foreign Material Exclusion (FME) principles across the project.
• Supporting Quality Leads, Inspection Leads and the QC Manager in delivering project objectives.
• Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities to enhance quality performance.

Who we're looking for

Essential Requirements

• NVQ or SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
• Gold JIB Electrical Grade Card.
• Successful completion of a competency-based interview.
• Strong understanding of electrical installation quality requirements.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Desirable Experience

• Experience working on major infrastructure or construction projects.
• Previous nuclear industry experience.
• Experience working within a collaborative alliance or joint venture environment.
