Job summary

Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick (BBK) is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to lead electrical construction activities on the Hinkley Point C project. You will drive performance, ensure safety standards, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver key milestones.

You will manage the electrical discipline, collaborate with design, procurement and project teams, and mentor staff while maintaining high quality and regulatory compliance on a major nuclear program.

Qualifications

  • Relevant professional accreditation in Construction Management, Project Management or Electrical Engineering.
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
  • Ability to obtain BPSS Security Clearance (or higher).
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale projects within nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
  • Strong leadership experience in major EPC projects and joint ventures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visible leadership and champion Health, Safety and Environmental culture.
  • Lead, manage and motivate the Electrical Discipline Team.
  • Ensure safe delivery of construction activities in line with CDM regulations and site licence conditions.
  • Collaborate with Design, Procurement, PM and Construction teams for effective delivery.
  • Manage subcontractors and self-delivery operations to meet programme, quality and productivity targets.
  • Drive schedule adherence, productivity improvements and opportunity workstreams.
  • Support progress reporting, quality assurance, lifetime records and construction documentation.
  • Foster relationships across client, joint venture and alliance teams.
  • Mentor and develop team members with appropriate resource levels.

About the role

Balfour Beatty are working in partnership with The MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C. We are at the forefront of delivering one of Europe's largest and most complex infrastructure projects, Hinkley Point C. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to lead electrical construction activities, drive performance, and ensure the safe and successful delivery of key project milestones.

As an Electrical Construction Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing electrical construction teams within your designated area, ensuring delivery against project KPIs while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and performance. Reporting to the Senior Construction Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating multidisciplinary activities, managing stakeholders, and driving successful project outcomes.

Who we're looking for

Essential:

  • Relevant professional accreditation in Construction Management, Project Management or Electrical Engineering.
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
  • Ability to obtain BPSS Security Clearance (or higher).
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale projects within nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
  • Strong leadership experience, including working within major EPC projects and joint venture environments.
  • Demonstrable track record of safely delivering complex construction projects
