Job summary

NG Bailey are recruiting an Electrical Quality Inspector to join the MEH Alliance on the Hinkley Point C project, based in Bridgwater, Somerset. This full‑time role may involve working away from home with generous uplifts and expenses.

You will perform inspections to the ITP, liaise with the client, ensure compliance with ECS Code and drawings, and support the QC team on site across electrical and instrumentation systems during construction.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation (ONC/HNC/HND or equivalent).
• Electrical Inspection & Testing 2391 qualification required.
• Substantial QC experience with electrical & instrument systems during construction and operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections in accordance with the ITP (Inspection and Test Plan).
• Liaise with client’s representative for day-to-day inspections.
• Ensure installation complies with ECS Code, drawings, and vendor/codes.
• Assist QC Manager and Area Leads in executing their responsibilities.
• Maintain LTQRs and ensure signatures on LTQR and ITP during inspections.
• Update SONIM register as required.
• Champion Foreign Material Exclusion on site.

This is the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain providing zero‑carbon electricity for around six million homes. NG Bailey, the UK’s leading independent engineering and services business, are proud to be part of the MEH Alliance, a joint venture to deliver the mechanical, electrical and HVAC installation for the project.

As we grow and expand on the project we have a new vacancy for an Electrical Quality Inspector to join us on the MEH Alliance working on the Hinkley Point C construction project. This is a full time position based at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater. We are open to applicants who are looking to work away from home and pay generous uplifts and expenses to accommodate this.

Main Responsibilities:

• Perform inspections in accordance with the ITP (Inspection and Test Plan).
• Liaise with client’s representative for conducting of day to day inspection during the construction activities.
• Ensure installation of equipment is in compliance with ECS Code, drawings, vendor and code requirements with respect to; material, alignment, etc.
• Assist QC manager and Area Leads in executing their responsibilities.
• Maintaining LTQR’s as required during inspections ensuring all signatures on LTQR and ITP during inspection.
• Updating SONIM register as required.
• Champion Foreign Material Exclusion, preventing ingress or entrapment of non-specified materials, loose items or debris in equipment and /or systems during assembly and testing.

Requirements:

• Qualifications in Electrical/Electronics/instrumentation, ONC / HNC / HND (or equivalent experience).
• Electrical Inspection & Testing 2391 qualification
• Substantial experience of Quality Control during the installation, inspection and testing of electrical and instrument systems associated with process plant during construction and operation.

NG Bailey on the Hinkley Point C Project:

We are working across both Hinkley Point C units to deliver the infrastructure that will power the station and its operations, creating 1,000 jobs including many specialist engineers. Works include the design and installation of circa 76,000 cables totalling over 3,000km in length; over 180km of cable containment support systems; fire and environmental sealing; design and installation of earthing systems, and specialist packages associated with data acquisition and plant control.
