Job summary

VHR Global Technical Recruitment partners with a leading UK high-voltage engineering company to recruit a Site Project Manager for HV substation, cable and grid connection projects across UK sites.

You will lead on-site delivery, drive safety culture, and manage programmes, logistics, and contractor activities while liaising with clients and key stakeholders to ensure compliance and quality.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering High Voltage projects within 33kV to 132kV range.
• Degree or HNC in Electrical, Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
• Strong leadership, contractor management and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site delivery of HV substation and BOP works.
• Drive a strong site safety culture, ensuring CDM, RAMS and permit compliance.
• Manage programme performance, site logistics and contractor activities against schedules.
• Act as the primary site liaison with clients, DNOs, National Grid and stakeholders.

Site Project Manager (High Voltage Electrical Projects)

Location: UK Wide (Site-Based)

Role Summary

We are partnering with a leading UK high-voltage engineering company and Independent Connections Provider (ICP) seeking an experienced Site Project Manager to oversee the safe and successful delivery of HV substation, cable, and grid connection projects. This role is ideal for someone with a strong track record in Transmission & Distribution (T&D) project delivery and contractor management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on-site delivery of HV substation and electrical Balance of Plant (BOP) works.
• Drive a strong site safety culture, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, RAMS, and permit systems.
• Manage programme performance, site logistics, and contractor activities against project schedules.
• Act as the primary site liaison with clients, DNOs, National Grid, and key stakeholders.
• Conduct quality inspections and audits to ensure works meet engineering specifications and standards.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering High Voltage projects within the 33kV to 132kV range.
• Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
• Strong leadership, contractor management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• NEBOSH or IOSH certification.
• SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, and First Aid at Work certification.
• SAP or AP HV authorisation.
• Experience working with DNO, National Grid, or major utility projects.
