Job summary

Green Recruitment Company seeks an experienced Substation Project Manager for contract roles across London and the UK. You will deliver AIS and GIS substations from mobilisation to energisation, owning programme, safety and commercial outcomes on behalf of transmission owners, DNOs and EPCs.

You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage client interfaces, and ensure compliance with UK standards and CDM 2015 throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Substation project management experience in transmission or distribution voltages.
• Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or construction management.
• SMSTS, CSCS and HV safety training.
• NEC contract experience preferred.
• Familiar with UK transmission/distribution standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of substation projects from site establishment through energisation.
• Own the project programme, budget, risk register and change control process.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and the site delivery team.
• Interface with client, TO/DNO, and design/engineering teams.
• Ensure CDM 2015 compliance and safety rules.
• Chair progress meetings and report on cost, programme and quality.

Job description

We are recruiting an experienced Substation Project Manager for contract assignments across London and the wider UK. This role suits a delivery-focused professional with a strong track record managing AIS and GIS substation projects at 33kV through to 400kV, working on behalf of transmission owners, DNOs, IPPs and EPC contractors. You will take full commercial, programme and safety ownership of substation construction from mobilisation through to energisation and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of substation projects, from site establishment through construction, testing and energisation

• Own the project programme, budget, risk register and change control process

• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and the site-based delivery team

• Act as the primary interface with the client, TO/DNO, and design and engineering teams

• Ensure full compliance with CDM 2015, client safety rules and relevant technical specifications

• Chair progress meetings and report on cost, programme and quality performance

Experience & Qualifications

• Proven substation project management experience at transmission or distribution voltages

• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in electrical engineering or construction management

• SMSTS, CSCS and relevant HV safety training

• Strong commercial awareness, ideally with NEC contract experience

• Familiarity with UK transmission and distribution standards and connection processes
