OCU Group in Borehamwood is seeking a Project Manager (Cabling) to lead high‑voltage cable projects from initiation to completion, ensuring delivery within scope, budget and schedule.

You will manage cross-functional teams, coordinate activities with clients and contractors, and align with UK utility standards to meet project objectives. This senior role offers a competitive package and opportunities within the Large Energy Programmes department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical) or Project Management.
• Demonstrable experience delivering high-voltage cabling projects, ideally 132kV and above, from design through to commissioning.
• Strong technical knowledge of cabling infrastructure.
• Proven experience managing complex engineering projects and programmes.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule performance.
• Proficiency with project management and engineering tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, and document control systems.
• Strong understanding of UK utility and transmission standards, including National Grid specifications, DNO/TSO requirements, CDM Regulations, and IEC standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, particularly in complex project environments.
• Strong organisational and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret technical drawings, schedules, cost reports, and risk registers.

• Manage project resources effectively to optimise productivity and delivery outcomes.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, implementing corrective actions where required.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, regulatory, and client requirements.
• Monitor project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and reporting.
• Oversee project progress from design and procurement through construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Deliver regular project updates, reports, and reviews to stakeholders and senior management.

The Opportunity
