Job summary

Octopus Energy is building a new business line delivering low-cost, reliable, clean energy and faster power for data centres and large industrials. We’re seeking a Project Electrical Engineer to own first-of-a-kind power projects—private wire, behind-the-meter generation and storage, MV and HV grid connections.

You will start as the project manager, holding the programme and development budget and coordinating consultants, then continue as electrical owner through construction, commissioning and

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in electrical or power systems engineering.
• 5+ years delivering energy or infrastructure projects with MV/HV focus.
• Experience with substations, networks, data centres and utilities.
• Managed programme and budget on development or pre-construction projects.
• Knowledge of UK/European grid codes and standards (G99/G100, ENA, BS 7671).

Responsibilities

• Own the programme and development budget from concept to energisation.
• Own electrical concept through sign-off including diagrams and layouts.
• Lead the grid interface with DNO/TO/NESO and manage offers.
• Budget ownership through completion including capex inputs and commissioning.
• Tackle unfamiliar tech/scope and deliver without precedent.
