Job summary

VolkerStevin, part of the VolkerWessels UK Group, is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to lead electrical packages across major infrastructure projects in the Anglian Water region. You will oversee delivery from procurement through installation, commissioning and handover, ensuring compliance with client standards and regulations.

Ideal candidates will have strong experience in electrical package management, site supervision and NEC contracts, with CSCS (and SMSTS desirable),

Qualifications

  • BEng, HNC, HND or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Experience in electrical package management and site supervision.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts and subcontract management.
  • Experience working to WIMES and water industry specifications.
  • Strong understanding of electrical installation, testing and commissioning.
  • Excellent communication and planning skills.
  • CSCS card holder.
  • SMSTS (Desirable), ATEX, DSEAR and instrumentation systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of electrical and MEICA packages from procurement through to installation, commissioning and handover.
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical and civil activities to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Lead the selection, procurement and management of electrical subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Review electrical designs, URS/FDS documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Drive value engineering, cost control and standardisation of electrical solutions.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, defect management and repair activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support planning, programme management and progress reporting.
  • Conduct and witness FATs, SATs and commissioning activities where required.
  • Review subcontractor RAMS and ITPs, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
  • Ensure compliance with client procedures, industry standards and ATEX requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with clients subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Support commissioning activities, client training and project handover.

About you

We're looking for someone with strong technical expertise and experience delivering electrical works within an infrastructure, utilities or water industry environment. You'll ideally have:

  • BEng, HNC, HND or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Experience in electrical package management and site supervision.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts and subcontract management.
  • Experience working to WIMES and water industry specifications.
  • Strong understanding of electrical installation, testing and commissioning.

About the role
