Job summary

VolkerStevin, part of the VolkerWessels UK Group, seeks an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to lead electrical packages from procurement through to handover on major Anglian Water projects.

You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, ensure compliance with NEC-based contracts, and drive value engineering and commissioning activities while maintaining safety standards across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification (BEng, HNC, HND or equivalent).
  • Experience in electrical package management and site supervision.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts and subcontract management.
  • Experience working to WIMES and water industry specifications.
  • Strong understanding of electrical installation, testing and commissioning.
  • CSCS card holder.
  • SMSTS (Desirable).
  • Knowledge of ATEX, DSEAR and instrumentation systems (Desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of electrical and MEICA packages from procurement through to installation, commissioning and handover.
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical and civil activities to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Lead the selection, procurement and management of electrical subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Review electrical designs, specifications, URS/FDS documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Drive value engineering, cost control and standardisation of electrical solutions.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, defect management and repair activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support planning, programme management and progress reporting.
  • Conduct and witness FATs, SATs and commissioning activities where required.
  • Review subcontractor RAMS and ITPs, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
  • Ensure compliance with client procedures, industry standards and ATEX requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with clients subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Support commissioning activities, client training and project handover.

You'll ideally have: BEng, HNC, HND or equivalent engineering qualification. Experience in electrical package management and site supervision. Knowledge of NEC contracts and subcontract management. Experience working to WIMES and water industry specifications. Strong understanding of electrical installation, testing and commissioning. Excellent communication and planning skills. CSCS card holder. SMSTS (Desirable) Knowledge of ATEX, DSEAR and instrumentation systems.
