Job summary

VolkerStevin, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to lead mechanical packages on major infrastructure projects within the Anglian Water region.

You will manage procurement, oversee equipment selection, and ensure health, safety, and quality standards throughout design, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.

Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification (BEng, HNC, HND or equivalent).
  • Experience delivering mechanical works in utilities or water environments is highly desirable.
  • Experience in subcontractor and package management.
  • Mechanical equipment installation and inspection experience.
  • Site supervision experience. CSCS card holder. SMSTS desirable.

  • Manage mechanical procurement from design through installation, commissioning and handover.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join our growing team supporting the delivery of major projects in the Anglian Water region. As a Mechanical Project Engineer , working closely with the Mechanical Lead, you will be responsible for the delivery and technical governance of mechanical packages, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget. You will manage mechanical procurement packages throughout the full project lifecycle, from design and procurement through to installation, commissioning and, standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance are maintained throughout project delivery. Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders. Support commissioning, testing and handover activities to ensure successful project completion.

About you

We're looking for a proactive and technically competent engineer who can confidently manage mechanical packages on complex infrastructure projects. You'll ideally have: Engineering qualification (BEng, HNC, HND or equivalent). Previous experience delivering electrical works within an utilities or water industry environment highly desirable Experience in subcontractor and package management. Mechanical equipment installation and inspection experience. Site supervision experience. Strong planning, organisational and communication skills. CSCS card holder. SMSTS (Desirable)
