  • Review potential bid opportunities, assessing risk and viability.
  • Develop bid strategies covering commercial and quality elements.
  • Manage the full bid process to ensure compliant and successful submissions.
  • Lead pre-construction design development with consultants and third-party specialists.
  • Agree commercial and operational targets and mobilise procurement strategies.
  • Liaise with foremen and electrical leads to ensure programme compliance.
  • Monitor cost and value, reporting to senior management and directors.
  • Act as lead representative in client and design team meetings.
  • Identify and cost project variations and add value opportunities for clients.
  • Provide regular reporting to senior management and directors.

Electrical Operations Manager

Location: Southeast London

Package: £70,000 - £80,000 + Package

Electrical Maintenance

Company Overview:

As part of a much wider group, the electrical division operates with a turnover of approximately £8m delivering a mix of compliance EICR contracts and project works supporting the larger business.

Project delivery spans both public and private sector environments.

Typical projects include:

  • Lateral main replacements and electrical distribution upgrades
  • Electrical installations within conversion schemes (small power, distribution, fire & smoke systems, access control)
  • LED lighting upgrade schemes including control systems
  • School refurbishment projects (lighting, power, fire and life safety systems)
The Role:

This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing the Electrical Division. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to delivery and client handover.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Construction

  • Review potential bid opportunities, assessing risk and viability
  • Develop bid strategies covering both commercial and quality elements
  • Manage the full bid process to ensure compliant and successful submissions
  • Manage client and consultant queries during the post-tender period
  • Lead pre-construction design development with consultants and third-party specialists
Pre-Commencement
  • Agree commercial and operational targets
  • Develop mobilisation and procurement strategies
Live Works / Delivery
  • Liaise with foremen and electrical leads to ensure programme compliance
  • Monitor cost and value, reporting regularly to senior management and directors
  • Act as the lead representative in client and design team meetings
  • Identify, manage, and cost project variations
  • Identify and deliver added value opportunities for clients
General Management
  • Manage and develop the direct labour workforce
  • Maintain and build strong client relationships
  • Maintain and promote high technical standards and innovation
  • Provide regular reporting to senior management and directors
The Person
  • Ideally from an electrical background with relevant technical qualifications
  • Strong understanding of the sector and client base
  • Proven experience in bid management and project delivery
  • IT proficient
  • Confident in a client-facing role
  • Experienced in managing direct labour
