Job summary

RGB Recruitment Ltd are working with a well established regional M&E contracting company in the South West. An experienced Electrical Contracts/Operations Manager is sought to lead the Cornwall-based work and build a new division, delivering projects up to £3m across healthcare, education and commercial sectors.

You will oversee safety, budgets, procurement and staffing, develop new business, manage up to four live schemes, and report to board level on performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing electrical contracts within building services or contracting environments.
• Strong leadership, budgeting and client relationship skills.
• Solid knowledge of H&S regulations and design principles.

Operations Manager (Electrical)

Looking for an exciting opportunity to lead and build an M & E business unit? RGB Recruitment Ltd are pleased to be working exclusively with a well established regional M & E contracting company who have earned a great reputation and work on varied schemes across the South West.

Due to an increase in workload and planned expansion, having won a number of new projects in the Healthcare, Education and Commercial sectors, a rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Electrical Contracts/Operations Manager to lead their Cornwall based work and build a new division in the area.

The Role

Working for a range of clients and main contractors, you will be responsible for the safe and successful delivery of multiple projects with contract values of up to £3m which include new build and refurbishment schemes. Duties will include:

• Business development, identifying new opportunities in the region
• Building strong working relationships with existing clients and supply chain partners
• Contracts managing up to 4 schemes at any one time
• Leading preconstruction functions having involvement in tendering and design management
• Oversee the recruitment, management and development of staff
• Collaborate with the commercial team to oversee project budgets, procurement, and forecasting for the business unit
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Report into board level on project and region performance

The Person

• Proven experience as an Electrical Contracts or Operations Manager within the building services sector ideally within a contracting environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, installation, and design principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of the marketplace and area are advantageous.
• Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or HNC/HND).
• Full UK driving licence.
