Job description

We are March, the UK's leading provider of critical engineering services. The Electrical Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of electrical projects within the organization. This role involves coordinating with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure that all electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan, execute, and oversee electrical projects from start to finish.
  2. Work with stakeholders to plan and manage electrical projects from inception to completion.
  3. Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  4. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  5. Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  6. Coordinate with other departments to minimize disruptions to production.
  7. Manage labour resources, including resourcing and release.
  8. Generate electrical installation estimates and tenders for project-specific activities.
  9. Manage and coordinate the activities of electrical teams, including project managers, contract managers, site managers, and supervisors.
  10. Provide training and development opportunities to team members.
  11. Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and develop individual development plans.
  12. Ensure the team follows all safety protocols and procedures.
  13. Serve as the final point of contact for clients regarding project updates and issues.
  14. Maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  15. Review project specifications, drawings, and requirements.
  16. Conduct site visits to understand scope and potential challenges.
  17. Identify necessary materials and equipment.
  18. Design electrical systems and components that meet industry standards and project requirements.
  19. Integrate electrical systems with other engineering systems for seamless operation and efficiency.
  20. Ensure all electrical systems comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and project management within the FMCG manufacturing sector.
  • Proven track record of managing electrical projects and leading teams.
  • Experience in managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and equipment used in the Food Manufacturing industry, including control panel fabrication and software integration.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
  • In-depth understanding of 2391 Inspection and Testing requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of NICEIC requirements and standards.
Qualifications
  • 17th / 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • HNC in electrical and electronic engineering or higher
  • Completed apprenticeship in Engineering / Installation
  • Project management certification
  • SSSTS / SMSTS certifications
