Job summary

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks is seeking an Electrical CMI Network Designer to join the project refinement team. You will perform design work across the South Distribution Network, visiting sites and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure safe, feasible deliveries.

You will deliver drawings and documentation to SSEN Design Standards and support delivery with CDM compliance and risk mitigation. This role supports SSE's Net Zero ambitions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge/experience in design/consents/construction of LV to 33kV networks.
• HNC or above or relevant field experience.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and NRSWA code of practice.
• IOSH or similar health and safety qualification advantageous.
• Organisational skills; able to work under pressure and independently.

Responsibilities

• Make network alterations, refurbishments and wayleave terminations from LV to 33kV.
• Liaise with customers, land agents, authorities and SSE colleagues; visit sites.
• Identify archaeology, ecological and environmental concerns before works.
• Produce design deliverables (drawings, access packages, PCI) to handover with construction.
• Ensure schemes handed to delivery are CDM compliant and risk-managed.
