Job summary

SSE plc is hiring an Electrical CMI Network Designer for a hybrid role across West London, Slough, Reading, Theale, Swindon, Melksham and Oxford. You will join the project refinement team to design and verify network schemes, ensuring compliance and feasibility for delivery.

The role requires travel, site visits, and liaising with stakeholders to deliver safe, cost-effective designs up to 33kV. A HNC or above and CDM knowledge are preferred, with driving licence mandatory.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of CDM regulations and health and safety best practices.
• Ability to manage multiple site visits and design deliverables.
• Strong stakeholder liaison and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Make network alterations from LV to 33kV poles and substations.
• Liaise with clients, land agents, authorities and SSE colleagues; visit sites.
• Identify archaeological, ecological and land-designation concerns before works.
• Produce design deliverables (drawings, access packages, PCI) to handover with construction.
• Ensure schemes handed to delivery are CDM compliant and safe.
