Job Description:

We currently have a great opportunity for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our Waste Team at Oxford Waste Treatment Works. This role offers excellent learning potential and the chance to cross-skill into other disciplines.

As the successful candidate, your responsibilities will include ensuring all equipment at our waste treatment works operates safely and efficiently through proactive and reactive maintenance methods.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain electrical assets onsite at Oxford site proactively and reactively.
  • Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs efficiently to prevent process interruptions.
  • Service and replace assets such as pump motors, electrical circuitry components, contactors, overloads, slip ring assemblies, telemetry outstations, variable speed drives, and motor control circuits.
  • Support local maintenance teams with planned and breakdown maintenance activities on electromechanical wastewater assets.
  • Provide technical advice, refer to up-to-date technical knowledge, and support technical trainees.
  • Perform fault diagnostics and resolve issues promptly.
  • Interpret and update electrical drawings.
  • Provide timely feedback on work carried out.
  • Monitor treatment processes using SCADA system and respond to alarms as required.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience in electrical systems, with a time-served apprenticeship, NVQ level 3 or higher in electrical engineering.
  • Qualifications in BS7671 or 18th edition electrical wiring regulations.
  • Experience with 3-phase systems.
  • Knowledge of health and safety policies and processes.
  • Physical fitness for confined space work, with appropriate training.
  • Participation in a 24/7 standby rota (additional pay provided).
  • Full UK driving license.
