Engineering Maintenance Technician - Electrical

Salary: A£30,000 - A£40,000

Overview

Are you an experienced Engineering Technician - Electrical seeking a new opportunity? Would you like to work for a successful, global manufacturing business?

The Role

The Engineering Technician should be a qualified electrician (preferably Compex qualified), adaptable, and willing to work across various engineering disciplines to maintain site infrastructure. You will lead efforts to improve maintenance effectiveness through continuous enhancement of preventive strategies, including planning for third-party support for reactive and corrective works with management approval.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage the Planned Preventative Maintenance system, ensuring timely, quality, and budget-compliant maintenance activities with proper documentation.
2. Participate actively in daily team meetings.
3. Perform electrical installation, testing, and fault diagnosis on plant and machinery, including hazardous areas.
4. Oversee sub-contractors, monitor scheduled PPM tasks, and remedial actions both in-house and outsourced.
5. Procure third-party suppliers.
6. Ensure cost-effectiveness within the engineering department.
7. Maintain manufacturing equipment and utilities for safe and continuous operation.
8. Conduct routine testing of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and emergency lighting.
9. Select appropriate hazardous area equipment.
10. Review and prioritize work requests, determining necessary activities.
11. Provide out-of-hours support.
12. Implement company policies and goals.
13. Adhere to health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
14. Report performance and improvement strategies to the Technical Senior Manager.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: A£35,000 - A£40,000 depending on skills and experience.
