About Us:

Alton Towers Resort is the UK’s most thrilling destination, home to iconic rides and attractions enjoyed by millions of guests every year. We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team, playing a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our world-class rides and facilities.

The Role:

As an Electrical Engineer at Alton Towers Resort, you’ll bring your knowledge in planned and reactive maintenance to help maintain and improve the park’s electrical systems. You'll work across various rides and infrastructure, troubleshooting and resolving issues efficiently while prioritizing safety and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems for rides, attractions, and facilities.
  • Fault-find and troubleshoot control systems, including PLCs and AC/DC drives.
  • Utilize electrical schematics for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Ensure safe operation of ride control systems.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of electrical systems and processes.
  • Support the maintenance team to minimize downtime and enhance guest experience.
  • Conduct all work in accordance with health and safety standards and regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Electrical engineering qualifications (degree, diploma, or certificate to Level 3) with relevant on-the-job training, ideally via an apprenticeship or accredited training scheme.
  • Proven maintenance experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment such as FMCG, focusing on control and automation systems.
  • Strong fault-finding skills on complex electrical systems, including PLCs, drives, and industrial networks.
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics and system maintenance.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays.
