Questech Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, and support installations to minimise downtime.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with experience in a manufacturing environment and strong fault-finding skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with PLC fault finding.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Salary: £48,300 per annum

Shifts: 3 Shift Pattern (Days, Afters & Nights)

Job Type: Permanent

The Role:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on manufacturing machinery.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• PLC fault finding and troubleshooting.
• Support installation work, engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety procedures.
• Work closely with production teams to maintain efficient plant operations.

The Person:

• NVQ Level 3 qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, ideally apprentice trained.
• Previous electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with PLC fault finding.
• Proactive approach to maintenance with strong problem-solving skills.

Salary & Working Hours:

• Salary: £48,300 per annum
• Shifts: Monday to Friday rotating 3-shift pattern:
  • Mornings: 6am – 2pm
  • Afternoons: 2pm – 10pm
  • Nights: 10pm – 6am
• Day shifts at weekends every 4th cycle.
