Job summary

OBR Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer in South Yorkshire. You will maintain and repair production and plant equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring safe, reliable operation and contributing to continuous improvement.

The role involves preventative and reactive maintenance, fault finding on motors and PLC-controlled systems, and close collaboration with mechanical engineers and production teams. Ongoing training and progression are available.

Qualifications

• recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• NVQ Level 3 / HNC or HND in electrical engineering.
• Strong fault-finding skills on automated machinery and production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across production equipment.
• Diagnose faults and repair to minimise downtime.
• Fault find on motors, drives, control panels and sensors.
• Work with PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems.
• Support continuous improvement projects to improve reliability.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure health & safety procedures.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and production teams to keep the site running smoothly.

Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: South Yorkshire
Salary: Up to £53,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours - Rotating mornings, afternoons and nights

We are partnering with a well-established businesses in South Yorkshire who are looking to recruit experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineers.

The Role

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for keeping production machinery operating safely, reliably and efficiently. Your duties will include:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and electrical inspections across production equipment.
• Responding to electrical breakdowns, diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Fault finding on motors, drives, control panels, sensors, relays, contactors and electrical control systems.
• Working with PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems.
• Supporting continuous improvement projects to improve machine reliability, efficiency and performance.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.
• Working closely with mechanical engineers, production teams and management to keep the site running effectively.

About You

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• A recognised electrical apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent electrical engineering qualification.
• Previous electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing, production, FMCG or industrial environment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills on automated machinery and production equipment.
