Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions in Salisbury is recruiting an M&E Shift Engineer for a high-profile building. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance in a team of around 50 across a static site, ensuring reliability of building services.

The role covers lighting, emergency lighting, controls, BMS monitoring, plumbing, pumps and general M&E/Fabric tasks. A City & Guilds Level 3 qualification or equivalent, 18th Edition, and a proven commercial maintenance background are required.

Qualifications

• Electrically or mechanically qualified – City & Guilds or equivalent Level 3.
• 18th Edition (electrical bias).
• Must provide copies of trade certificates.
• Proven track record in commercial building maintenance.
• Multi-skilled with good communication and client-facing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out M&E/Fabric maintenance and routine servicing.
• Lighting: installation, fault-finding and lampholders.
• Emergency lighting tests and control panels.
• BMS monitoring of temperature and HVAC systems.
• Plumbing tasks including unblocking toilets.
• Operate pumps and motors, maintain log books.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and report faults promptly.

M&E Shift Engineer – FM Service Provider - High-Profile Building – Salisbury – up to £44,000 + Package

An exciting opportunity to join an established FM service provider based in Salisbury. CBW Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting an M&E Shift Engineer based in a high-profile building in Salisbury. The candidate will carry out planned and reactive maintenance within a team of roughly 50 across this static site.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Facilities Maintenance and a proven track record in building maintenance. The company offers a competitive salary of up to £44,000, overtime, further training and a route into further career progression.

• Salary of up to £44,000 (£37,000 + £7,000 Shift Allowance)

Hours of Work

• Continental Shift Pattern – Days & Nights
• Day Shift – 6 am to 6 pm
• Night Shift – 6 pm to 6 am

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Lighting – small installation, fault‑finding, lampholders, etc.
• Emergency lighting tests
• Control panels
• Changing ballast
• BMS system – monitor (e.g. hot & cold)
• Carry out all aspects of M&E/Fabric maintenance
• Maintain and update log books
• Plumbing – unblock toilets
• Pumps, motors
• Compliance and logbooks
• Undertake all allocated tasks and perform them in a timely and professional manner
• Be proactive in identifying and reporting faults with building services equipment and take steps to resolve them
• Ensure all H&S issues are reported/escalated as required
• Maintain informal communications with client staff members related to service levels and issues
• Report service‑affecting issues to the site management team for formal communication with the client
• Remain flexible with regard to site attendance and tasks undertaken within personal competency
• Be fully aware of relevant Health and Safety and general legislative matters
• Escort specialist subcontractors
