Venatu Consulting Ltd is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business in North Lincolnshire. The role focuses on supporting automated production equipment, with a strong electrical bias and PLC experience.

You will carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on PLC-controlled machinery, and work across Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Schneider systems, as well as inverters and motors. A proactive attitude and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• This role requires an electrical bias with PLC experience.

• 18th Edition is desirable.

Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance Engineer - PLC / Automation

Location: Barton-upon-Humber

Salary: £39,000 - £43,000

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (Days) - 5:30am to 4:00pm

A recruiter is currently working with a well-established manufacturing business in North Linconshire to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support the performance and reliability of automated production equipment. This role would suit an engineer with a strong electrical bias and experience working with PLC-controlled machinery and industrial automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across production and automation equipment.
• Provide a rapid response to electrical faults and breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Perform electrical fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on automated machinery.
• Work with PLC-controlled systems, including fault finding and diagnostics on:
  • Allen Bradley PLCs
  • Siemens PLCs
  • Schneider PLCs
• Maintain and troubleshoot inverters / variable speed drives (VSDs).
• Diagnose faults across input and output systems, sensors, and control circuits.
• Maintain and repair electric motors and associated drive systems.
• Support the maintenance and reliability of automated production lines and CNC equipment.
• Record all maintenance activities using the CMMS system.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed when working on electrical systems and equipment.
• Work closely with engineering and production teams to maintain efficient factory operations.

Candidate Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong electrical maintenance background within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience working with PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider).
• Experience with inverters / variable speed drives, motors, and electrical control systems.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is desirable.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
• Ability to work under pressure in a reactive maintenance environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative when solving technical problems.
• A proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and equipment reliability.
