Job summary

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer role at a food manufacturing site in Hampshire. This is a hands‑on position in a fast‑paced, chilled environment, focused on reliability across production and packaging operations.

You will respond to breakdowns, perform planned and preventative maintenance, support small continuous improvement projects, and keep accurate maintenance records in line with health & safety and food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven maintenance engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Must have NVQ/C&G electrical qualification.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capability.
• Experience with pneumatics and reading technical drawings.
• Fabrication and welding skills.
• An recognised engineering qualification (apprenticeship/NVQ/HNC/HND or equivalent).
• Proactive, problem-solving approach and strong team ethic.

Responsibilities

• Respond to breakdowns and fault-finding to minimise downtime.
• Carry out planned and preventive maintenance across plant and machinery.
• Support small continuous improvement and reliability projects.
• Work closely with Production, Technical and Hygiene teams.
• Accurately complete maintenance records and documentation.
• Ensure work complies with health and food safety standards.

I’m currently working with a well‑established food manufacturing business to recruit a Maintenance Engineer for their site in Hampshire.

This is a hands‑on role within a fast‑paced, chilled manufacturing environment, offering a strong salary, and long‑term stability within a growing engineering team and a business that will invest in your development.

The Role

As a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining site performance and reliability across production and packaging operations.

• Responding to breakdowns and fault‑finding to minimise downtime

• Supporting small continuous improvement and reliability projects
• Working closely with Production, Technical, and Hygiene teams
• Accurately completing maintenance records and documentation
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety and food safety standards

What I’m Looking For

• Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within manufacturing
• MUST HAVE: NVQ / C&G recognised Electrical qualification, your application will not be considered if not
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding capability
• Experience working with pneumatics and reading technical drawings
• Fabrication and welding skills
• A recognised engineering qualification (apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC/HND, or equivalent)
