Job summary

Dovetail and Slate is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Trainer/Assessor to train and assess apprentices across electrical and instrumentation disciplines, both in the workshop and on site at employers' premises.

You will assess practical and theoretical competence against national standards, help learners through End Point Assessment, maintain records of progress, and collaborate with employers and colleagues to develop confident, work-ready technicians.

Qualifications

• Essential: A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical and/or Instrumentation.
• Substantial industry experience in electrical and instrumentation work.
• Strong communication skills to support and motivate learners.

Responsibilities

• Delivering training and assessment across electrical and instrumentation programmes, in both workshop and on-site settings.
• Assessing learners' practical and theoretical competence against national standards.
• Preparing learners for End Point Assessment and supporting them through to successful completion.
• Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records of learner progress and portfolio evidence.
• Liaising with employers to monitor apprentice development and maintain strong working relationships.
