Job summary

Dovetail and Slate in Grimsby is seeking an Electrical Vocational Trainer Coach to teach, coach and assess apprentices who are not in full-time education. This is a permanent role with a start date of October 2026, managing a caseload and working closely with learners and employers to meet funding requirements.

You will develop your teaching, learning, assessment and coaching practice, supporting apprentices to completion and preparing them for End Point Assessment, while actively engaging in

Qualifications

• Industry experience within the electrical sector.
• Ability to teach, coach and assess learners effectively.
• Strong organisational skills to manage a varied caseload.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both apprentices and employers.
• A commitment to ongoing CPD and professional development.
• Previous experience in apprenticeship training (desirable).
• Familiarity with funding rules and accountability frameworks within apprenticeship delivery (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of apprentices and ensure timely progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to keep learners engaged and on track.
• Develop plans to help learners catch up if behind.
• Monitor progression and prepare for End Point Assessment.
• Ensure apprentices are seen in line with funding rules.
• Engage with employers and apprentices to update on progress.
• Participate in CPD and align with awarding organisation requirements.
• Engage with stakeholders to grow caseload and promote apprenticeships.
• Attend meetings and keep to scheduled appointments.
• Promote equality of opportunity and safe working practice.
