Job summary

RNN Group is seeking an Electrical Installations Lecturer at Rotherham College to inspire learners and deliver high-quality teaching up to Level 3 across study programmes, adult programmes and apprenticeships.

You will combine practical, theoretical and digital methods, motivate students, assess progress, and contribute to curriculum development within a supportive and collaborative team led by Curriculum Manager. This permanent role offers job security and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Vocational qualification at Level 3 or above and a relevant teaching qualification with assessors award, or willingness to work towards.
  • Level 2 English and Maths or willingness to undertake training to achieve.
  • Experience or willingness to teach Electrical Installations up to Level 3 in a college setting.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding teaching and assessment up to Level 3 across study programmes, adult programmes and apprenticeships.
  • Develop creative resources and monitor learner progress to promote positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Curriculum Team Leaders and colleagues to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Motivate and support learners to reach their potential through vocational, practical and digital approaches.
  • Set SMART targets and provide preparation and marking to support learning.

Electrical Installations Lecturer

Location: Rotherham College, Rotherham


Salary: Up to £38,487 per annum including Market Force Enhancement + benefits

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full time (37hrs per week, all year round)

Within this role the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering outstanding teaching and assessment up to Level 3 which includes study programmes, adult programmes and apprenticeships within electrical installations, in both a workshop and classroom environment. With an enthusiastic and engaging approach, you will have the ability to motivate students and support them to achieve their potential.


The role of lecturer is to equip our students with skills for their future through the delivery of outstanding education and training and inspire students to achieve their potential. The key roles of a Lecturer are to deliver excellent teaching, completing the relevant preparation and marking that supports this, and to set SMART targets to enable students to reach their potential.


You will

You will play an important role in developing creative resources to inspire outstanding learning and will be responsible for the monitoring and tracking of learner progress to promote positive outcomes for learners.


You should be an effective and motivated team player, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and management to achieve strategic and organisational objectives.


You will hold a vocational qualification at Level 3 or above, as well as a relevant teaching qualification and assessors award, or be willing to work towards.


You will be able to bring the subject to life, using combined methods of practical, theoretical and digital which will engage your learners and provide them with the best skills, knowledge and behaviours for the future.


You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or be willing to undertake).

Department Info

You will work as part of the curriculum team at Rotherham and you will also closely, and take direction from our Curriculum Team Leaders. You will be line managed by the Curriculum Manager.


In this role you will also work in collaboration with Technicians, Personal Development Coordinators, Work Placement Officers and other internal departments such as Examinations and Curriculum Administration.
