Job summary

Monarch Education is seeking an Electrical Installation Lecturer for a 12-week temporary role at a Birmingham college campus (B9). Start on 01/09/2026, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, to support learners progressing into the electrical installation industry.

Candidates must hold a Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification and a recognised teaching qualification, with UK teaching experience. The role covers practical workshops and classroom delivery with strong focus on safety and DBS

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification and a recognised teaching qualification.
  • UK-based teaching experience evidenced on your CV.
  • Experience delivering both practical workshop-based and classroom-based learning.
  • Ability to engage, motivate and support learners to achieve qualifications.
  • Excellent classroom management and workshop health and safety awareness.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging Electrical Installation lessons and practical workshops.
  • Ensure activities are completed safely and in line with regulations.
  • Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support learners of varying abilities and provide guidance.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Job description

Electrical Installation Lecturer – B9 – September 2026 Start

Applications without the required Electrical Installation qualification (Level 3) and teaching qualification, alongside UK-based teaching experience (evidenced on your CV), will not be considered. We are currently recruiting for a skilled and enthusiastic Electrical Installation Lecturer to join a well-established college campus in B9. This is a 12-week temporary assignment starting on 01/09/2026, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to a successful Construction department and support learners progressing into the electrical installation industry.

Start Date: 01/09/2026
Contract Type: Temporary Contract (12 Weeks)
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Days: Monday – Friday
Qualification Required: Must hold a Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification and a recognised teaching qualification

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A recognised teaching qualification and the ability to deliver Electrical Installation programmes
  • A Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or relevant subject specialism
  • Strong industry knowledge across electrical systems, wiring regulations, fault finding, testing and inspection, and current industry standards
  • Experience delivering both practical workshop-based and classroom-based learning
  • The ability to engage, motivate and support learners to achieve their qualifications and career goals
  • Excellent classroom management skills and workshop health and safety awareness
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging, industry-relevant Electrical Installation lessons and practical workshop sessions
  • Ensure all practical activities are completed safely and in line with awarding body requirements, current wiring regulations and health and safety legislation
  • Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate learner records
  • Support learners of varying abilities and provide additional guidance where required
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive and professional learning environment
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, learner welfare and professional practice
