Skillmatch Recruitment Ltd is actively seeking an Electrical Inspection & Testing Engineer for a forward-thinking facilities management contractor in the UK. The role emphasizes conducting EICR inspections and fixed wire testing within commercial and industrial settings.

You will produce clear, professional reports and maintain thorough testing records, ensuring compliance with BS 7671 and the Electricity at Work Regulations. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
• 18th Edition BS 7671 qualification.
• City & Guilds 2391‑52 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Carry out EICR inspections on commercial and industrial electrical installations.
• Perform Fixed Wire (Periodic) Inspection & Testing in accordance with BS 7671.
• Identify faults, defects, deviations, and non‑compliances within electrical systems.
• Code observations using C1, C2, C3, and FI classifications with auditable records.
• Work in strict compliance with BS 7671, Electricity at Work Regulations, and company procedures.

The Electrical Inspection & Testing Engineer, will be responsible for:

• Carry out EICR inspections on commercial and industrial electrical installations
• Perform Fixed Wire (Periodic) Inspection & Testing in accordance with BS 7671
• Identify faults, defects, deviations, and non‑compliances within electrical systems
• Correctly code observations using C1, C2, C3, and FI classifications while maintaining clear and auditable testing records, schedules, and certification
• Work in strict compliance with BS 7671, Electricity at Work Regulations, and company procedures

To be successful for this Electrical Inspection & Testing Engineer role you must have:

• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical Installations (or equivalent)
• 18th Edition BS 7671 qualification
• City & Guilds 2391‑52 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent
• Proven experience delivering EICRs and fixed wire testing
• Strong knowledge of electrical regulations, safety standards, and testing procedures
• Ability to produce clear, accurate, professional reports
• Full UK driving licence
