Alecto Recruitment Limited seeks an experienced Electrical Test & Inspection Engineer to join a specialist maintenance team. You will carry out inspections, testing and certification of commercial electrical installations across London, the Southeast, and wider UK.

The role offers a mix of inspection, testing, fault-finding and maintenance work with autonomy and clear career development, supported by a technical team.

Qualifications

• Professional electrical testing and inspection capability in commercial installations.
• Ability to produce high-quality certification and reports.
• Experience completing EICRs independently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs).
• Inspect, test and certify electrical systems.
• Test distribution boards, circuits and three-phase installations.
• Identify, record and report electrical defects.
• Fault-finding and diagnostics across commercial electrical systems.
• Carry out minor remedial works where required.
• Produce accurate electronic reports and certification.
• Support planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Ensure all work complies with BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
• Work safely at height and use access equipment when required.

We're seeking an experienced Electrical Test & Inspection Engineer to join a specialist technical maintenance team working across a diverse portfolio of commercial and infrastructure sites throughout London, the Southeast and, occasionally, the wider UK.

The Role

As an Electrical Test & Inspection Engineer, you'll be responsible for carrying out periodic inspections, testing and certification of commercial electrical installations and associated infrastructure.

• Conducting Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs)
• Inspection, testing and certification of electrical systems
• Testing distribution boards, circuits and three-phase installations
• Identifying, recording and reporting electrical defects
• Fault-finding and diagnostics across commercial electrical systems
• Carrying out minor remedial works where required

Travelling throughout London, the Southeast and wider UK locationsThis is predominantly a field-based role, giving you the freedom to manage your own workload while being supported by an experienced technical and operational team.

• City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation Qualification
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Full UK Driving Licence

Essential Experience

• Previous Electrical Testing & Inspection experience
• Experience completing EICRs independently
• Commercial electrical installation knowledge
• Strong electrical fault-finding capabilities
• Experience testing three-phase systems
• Good understanding of BS7671 Wiring Regulations
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Strong communication and reporting skills

Desirable

• IPAF or working-at-height experience
• Maintenance engineering background
• Field service experience
• Experience using digital certification software
• Experience working across multiple client sites
