Job summary

SP Electricity North West is seeking an Electrical Fitter to install, repair, inspect and maintain electrical plant within SP ENW substations across the North West.

The successful candidate will hold a recognised craft apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3, have operational authorisations (desirable), a full UK driving licence, and knowledge of safe working practices and HV systems. A strong health & safety focus is essential, with an understanding of the construction industry and SP ENW’s role.

Qualifications

• Recognised Craft Apprenticeship or vocational training to NVQ Level 3.
• Operational authorisations enabling work as a competent person (desirable).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Demonstrated knowledge of safe working practices and risk assessment procedures.
• Experience with high‑voltage electrical system components, plant and equipment.
• Understanding of health & safety legislation relevant to the role.
• Broad understanding of the construction industry and SP Electricity North West’s role within it.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, inspect and maintain electrical plant apparatus within SP ENW substations.
• Operate safely and comply with risk assessments and electrical safety standards.
• Respond to faults and perform routine preventative maintenance as required.

A Fantastic Opportunity: Electrical Fitter

As an electrical fitter, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, inspecting and maintaining electrical plant apparatus, such as electrical switches, isolators, circuit breakers, batteries, protection and transformers within SP ENW substations.

The successful candidate must, at the start of employment have permission to work in the UK without sponsorship.
