Job summary

Raven Search is working with a well-established electrical contractor in Bury to recruit an Electrical Estimator on a full-time, permanent basis. You will produce detailed, accurate estimates for design & build, reactive service projects across commercial and industrial sectors, and contribute to winning bids.

You will review drawings and tender docs, collaborate with supply chain for pricing, identify risks and value-engineering options, and support bid submissions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience estimating electrical building services from drawings and specs.
• Ability to read, interpret, and cost from technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with estimating software and confident Excel skills.
• Strong organisation, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Commercial awareness and ability to flag risks or opportunities early.
• Good communication and team-based approach.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed, accurate estimates for electrical projects spanning full design & build, reactive maintenance, and specialist installations.
• Reviewing drawings, specs, and tender documents for clarity and scope.
• Collaborating with supply chain partners to secure reliable pricing and technical information.
• Identifying risks, alternates, and cost-saving value engineering options.
• Supporting bid submissions and join pre/post-tender client meetings when required.
• Working with service and project teams to ensure smooth handovers.
