Job summary

Protea Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Engineering Team Lead for a busy food manufacturing site in County Down. This hands-on leadership role supports a small engineering team while keeping production running efficiently.

You’ll lead maintenance planning, coordinate priorities, reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability, while collaborating with Production, Quality and Operations teams. Strong PLC, motor and drive knowledge plus preventative and reactive maintenance experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical engineering experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
• Preventative and reactive maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery, motors and drives.

Responsibilities

• Leading and supporting a team of engineers and technicians
• Coordinating day-to-day maintenance priorities
• Reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability
• Supporting OEE, MTTR and maintenance KPIs
• Planning preventative and predictive maintenance
• Leading fault finding and root cause analysis
• Supporting PLCs, motors, drives and automated production equipment
• Managing critical spare parts and engineering supplies
• Working closely with Production, Quality and Operations
• Supporting energy reduction and sustainability initiatives
