Job summary

Pure Resourcing Solutions Limited is seeking an Engineering Lead to oversee maintenance operations at a leading food production site. You will take ownership of reliability, guide the engineering team, and drive a proactive culture focused on uptime and performance across the site.

You will lead hands-on fault finding, manage preventative maintenance through CMMS, and collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective engineering solutions.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading engineering teams in manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical or electrical engineering background.
  • Hands-on maintenance and fault-finding experience.
  • Experience in FMCG/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities.
  • Proactive mindset with focus on continuous improvement.
  • Team coaching and development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the engineering team to deliver safe, reliable maintenance activities.
  • Manage planned preventative maintenance programmes and drive improvements through the CMMS system.
  • Provide hands‑on support with mechanical and electrical fault finding and breakdown response.
  • Prioritise engineering activities in line with production requirements to minimise downtime.
  • Lead engineering projects, working closely with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and deliver improvements to equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop safe systems of work and engineering procedures.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing the engineering team to improve capability and performance.
  • Monitoring engineering output to ensure high standards of workmanship and compliance.
  • Building effective relationships with contractors and ensuring all required documentation and procedures are in place.

We're supporting a leading food production business in their search for an Engineering Lead to join their engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with leadership experience to take ownership of maintenance operations, drive continuous improvement, and develop a proactive engineering culture. You'll play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, maximising uptime, and supporting operational performance across the site.

Core Duties:
  • Leading and supporting the engineering team to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance activities

About You:
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring, and developing engineering teams
  • Strong mechanical or electrical engineering background
  • Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Hands‑on approach to maintenance and fault finding
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, production, or FMCG environment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Team player with the ability to lead from the front
