Job summary

Fuse Energy in the United Kingdom is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead to own the electrical engineering for our EPC function, guiding design, testing and energisation across Solar PV, BESS, Wind and data centres.

You will be the technical authority for HV/MV systems, hold a NERS authorisation, and lead a team of Electrical Design Engineers, SAPs and commissioning engineers while ensuring compliance with Grid Code, DNO/TSO requirements and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 8 to 10+ years of HV/MV electrical engineering experience.
• Current NERS Authorisation.
• Experience leading and developing engineers and commissioning teams.
• Chartered status (CEng) and HV Senior Authorised Person background.
• Experience with substations, grid connections, protection, and grid studies.
• Knowledge of UK grid standards: Grid Code, G99/G100, DNO/TSO.
• Hands-on HV commissioning, testing and energisation.
• Ability to challenge EPC/consultant designs with evidence.
• Experience in solar, BESS or grid infrastructure projects.
• Strong safety/compliance mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead all electrical engineering for the EPC function, from design to energisation.
• Act as the HV/MV SME across all infrastructure projects.
• Set electrical design standards and ensure consistency.
• Review and approve electrical designs from internal and partner teams.
• Provide technical challenge to drive safe, compliant and cost-effective solutions.
• Lead Electrical Design Engineers, SAPs and Commissioning Engineers.
• Allocate resources across projects and ensure right staffing.
• Maintain NERS accreditation records and framework.
• Interface with DNOs/TSOs and ICPs; lead grid studies.
• Oversee HV/MV installation oversight, testing, energisation, and handovers.
