Job summary

Fuse Energy, a UK-based energy startup, is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to act as the electrical authority across grid connection works, utility-scale solar PV, BESS and data centre power infrastructure from development through commissioning and handover.

You will own electrical design packages, review consultant work, and provide assurance across procurement and construction, with a strong preference for candidates with substantial HV experience.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years in electrical engineering within power, utilities, renewables, or critical infrastructure.
• Proven design background producing and owning electrical designs.

Responsibilities

• Act as electrical SME across grid, solar, BESS, and data centre projects; own electrical designs.
• Deliver detailed design across substations, transformers, switchgear, protection, and power distribution.
• Develop design packages from concept through detailed design: single-line diagrams, equipment specs, protection schemes, cable sizing, earthing/bonding.
• Support grid connection works and validate studies (fault level, load flow, protection coordination).
• Provide electrical input from development through handover; align design with procurement and construction.
