Job summary

Sonoco in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to maintain electrical equipment and support improvements across the plant. You will plan updates, manage PLC and control systems, and develop schedules to boost reliability.

The role requires hands-on fault-finding, knowledge of 18th Edition, BS7671, and lock-out/tag-out practices, with mentoring duties for site electricians. A shift premium and pension apply.

Qualifications

• Time served Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship with 18th Edition awareness.
• Experience with Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLC and high-speed manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Safe Working Practices including Lock Off/Tag Out and BS7671.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical equipment and machinery, and improve reliability across plant.
• Plan updates and replacement of obsolete equipment.
• Support maintenance strategy; develop schedules in CMMS; PLC and control systems.
