Job summary
Sonoco is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to maintain electrical equipment, machinery and services across the plant, improving reliability and safety. You will develop replacement plans for obsolete equipment, support maintenance strategies, and mentor junior electrical staff.
The role involves designing circuit diagrams, writing PLC programs, and installing equipment with external contractors as needed.
Qualifications
- Time served electrical apprentice with familiarity of HSE requirements.
- Knowledge of 18th Edition BS7671 and Safe Working Practices including Lock Off/Tag Out.
- Experience with Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLC and maintenance management systems.
Responsibilities
- Complete electrical installation and modification work on machines to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Conduct risk assessments and write Safe System of Work. assist PUWER assessments.
- Plan updates and replacements of obsolete equipment; support maintenance strategy to improve reliability.
- Develop schedules on CMMS for reliability improvements across plant, PLC, control systems, instrumentation.
