Job summary

Crown Peterborough is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to maintain and optimise electrical systems across a high-speed manufacturing plant. You will work to minimise production downtime and ensure safety standards are consistently met.

You will collaborate with a team of engineers, perform fault-finding, installation, and modification of equipment, and support continual improvements to maximise output and reliability.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering.
• Experience in high-speed manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of fault-finding techniques and basic programming.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise electrical systems across the plant to minimise production disruption and ensure safety compliance.
• Resolve issues and implement solutions to improve efficiency and performance.
• Analyse line performance, update PLC software, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The Opportunity

In this hands‑on technical role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and optimising electrical systems across the plant, ensuring minimal disruption to production and full compliance with safety standards.

You’ll work closely with our team of engineers to resolve and implement innovative solutions that improve efficiency and performance. From fault‑finding and repairs to installation and modification of equipment, you’ll play a key role in keeping the production line running at peak performance.

This role also involves analysing line performance, updating PLC software, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise output and reliability.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be a proactive and technically skilled Electrical Engineer with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You’ll thrive in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and be confident working both independently and as part of a team.

A Level 3 Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering (with an electrical bias) is essential. Experience in high‑speed manufacturing environments, along with knowledge of fault‑finding techniques and basic programming, and experience with Allen Bradley PLCs will be highly beneficial.

You’ll also bring a "can‑do" attitude, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to support and collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime and improve performance.
