Future Engineering Recruitment Ltd in Peterborough is seeking an Engineering Team Leader to manage a multi-skilled maintenance team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role focuses on driving equipment reliability, overseeing planned maintenance, and leading continuous improvement, with Monday–Friday days and no weekend work.

The position offers a £54,000 basic salary with a benefits package and clear progression in a stable, established manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as a senior maintenance leader or supervisor in manufacturing.
• Strong electrical and mechanical engineering background.
• Knowledge of PPMs, breakdowns and continuous improvement.
• Experience with multi-skilled maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of maintenance engineers.
• Oversee planned maintenance and reactive breakdowns.
• Drive continuous improvement and reduce downtime.
• Manage KPIs, maintenance schedules and team performance.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions.
• Collaborate with production to maximise machinery efficiency.
• Support projects and maintenance budgets.
• Work Monday to Friday with days-only shifts.

Your Role As An Engineering Team Leader Will Include:

• Leading, managing and developing a team of multi-skilled maintenance engineers

• Overseeing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdowns

• Driving continuous improvement and reducing machinery downtime

• Managing engineering KPIs, maintenance schedules and team performance

• Conducting root cause analysis and implementing long-term engineering solutions

• Working closely with production teams to maximise machinery efficiency

• Supporting engineering projects, site improvements and maintenance budgets

• Monday to Friday - Days Only

As An Engineering Team Leader You Will Need To Have:

• Experience as an Engineering Team Leader, Maintenance Team Leader, Engineering Supervisor or similar

• Strong electrical and mechanical engineering background

• Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, food production, packaging or similar environments

• Previous experience leading or supervising maintenance engineers

• Good knowledge of PPMs, breakdowns and continuous improvement

• Working knowledge of PLCs and automated machinery

• Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND or apprenticeship)

• Knowledge of 18th Edition electrical regulations

• Commutable to Whittlesey, Peterborough
