Equans is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the MMUH team in Smethwick. This full-time role (40 hours/week) offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
You will diagnose and repair complex electrical systems, respond to BMS alerts during night shifts, and progress to Competent Person and Authorised Person statuses after training. A DBS check is required, and experience in healthcare maintenance is desirable.
Equans is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) in Smethwick. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Undertake a proactive role in responding to reactive jobs to complete diagnostic, fault finding and repair to complex mechanical systems in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures and in compliance with legislation and guidance
Respond to BMS alerts and phone calls during nightshift, acting as the initial point of contact. Assess the nature of the issue, allocate the task to the appropriate team member, and complete the necessary documentation. Ensure all records are handed over to the Helpdesk team at the start of their shift to support effective service continuity
Obtain Competent Person status following training and instruction for systems such as low voltage electrical systems, access control systems, alarm systems and medical gas installations
Undertake role of Authorised Person following appropriate training and familiarisation
Work on the following but not limited to; emergency lighting, nurse calls, general electrics, fire alarms

This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
