Job summary

Electrical Maintenance Engineer position based in Derby and the East Midlands, offering up to £43,000 base salary plus a company van and fuel card. Monday–Friday with no call-out rota and minimal out-of-hours work in a healthcare facilities portfolio.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent is required.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is required.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience in facilities management or commercial maintenance is advantageous.

The Opportunity

Join a leading facilities management company supporting a healthcare contract across Derby and the wider East Midlands, working across a portfolio of veterinary clinics and care facilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer looking for a mobile position offering genuine work-life balance.

With no call out rota, very little out-of-hours working and most sites closing by 6pm, you'll benefit from predictable working hours while still having the variety of working across multiple commercial properties.

Although these are commercial sites, many are similar in size and layout to larger residential properties, making this a great opportunity for an electrician looking to move into or develop their career within Facilities Management and commercial maintenance.

The Role

You'll carry out electrical planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of commercial healthcare sites throughout Derby and the surrounding East Midlands area.

Your workload will be approximately evenly split between:

• 50% Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)

• 50% Reactive Maintenance

Typical duties will include:

• Electrical fault finding and repairs

• Planned electrical maintenance

• Reactive electrical maintenance

• Emergency lighting testing

• Fire alarm testing

• Lighting and power repairs

• Distribution board inspections

• Small electrical installations

• Inspection and testing

• Electrical remedial works

• Compliance checks

• Completing maintenance documentation

• Supporting general building maintenance where required

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a qualified electrician with a good electrical background who is comfortable working independently across multiple customer sites.

Previous experience within Facilities Management or commercial building maintenance would be advantageous.

Qualifications & Experience

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

• Inspection & Testing qualification desirable

• Previous electrical maintenance experience

• Good electrical fault-finding skills

• Facilities Management or commercial maintenance experience advantageous
