Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Electrical or M&E Engineer to join our on-site team at a modern client site. The role focuses on electrical PPMs with some fabric duties such as fire and riser doors, for which full training will be provided.

You will work with the Fabric Engineer, Supervisor and client engineering team, applying broad building services knowledge to diagnose issues and coordinate contractor activities.

Qualifications

• Experience as Electrical or M&E engineer on site.
• Good general building-services knowledge.
• Willingness to learn fabric works such as fire doors and risers.

Responsibilities

• Delivering electrical PPMs and assessing reactive tasks.

About The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Electrical or M&E Engineer to join our small, friendly site-based team, working within a state-of-the-art building for a prestigious client.

This is primarily an electrical-focused role, including elements of fabric works such as the inspection of fire doors and riser doors. Full training will be provided for this aspect of the role.

You’ll be working alongside a Fabric Engineer and Supervisor, as well as closely with the client’s own engineering team. We’re looking for someone who can bring good general building-services knowledge to the role and is comfortable assessing issues outside of their core discipline.

Working Pattern:

Monday - Friday 8:00 - 16:30. Regular overtime paid at enhanced rate, frequent weekend working and occasional evening/night shifts.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Delivering electrical PPMs and assessing reactive tasks.
• Inspecting fire doors and riser doors, with training provided where required.
• Assessing M&E defects and identifying appropriate remedial works.
• Interrogating BMS and remote monitoring systems to carry out health checks and identify faults.
• Working closely with the client’s engineering team and other site personnel.
• Liaising with contractors attending site, acting as a point of contact, understanding the works they are attending to carry out and directing them to the correct location.
• Providing contractors with access, escort and assistance where required.
• Keeping up to date with contractor visits and works taking place across the site, including works outside of your own discipline.
• Using your wider knowledge of building services to assess issues involving plumbing, HVAC and mechanical systems where required.
• Providing clear information to support the diagnosis and resolution of issues.
• Maintaining accurate site records and ensuring relevant procedures are followed.
• Providing a professional and customer-focused service at all times.

Overtime Opportunities

There are excellent opportunities to increase your earnings through regular overtime, including frequent weekend work and occasional late shifts and night shifts.

Overtime is paid at an enhanced rate. While it is not compulsory, we’re looking for someone who is flexible and keen to take advantage of the additional hours available.
